The ancient temple of Andawala Udagama lacked a stupa for many years though it is an integral part of a temple. There were many attempts in past to build one but were not successful. But recently that dream has come true thanks to the efforts of many and stupa has been built now. We were also lucky enough to contribute to the project by building the retaining wall and courtyard of the stupa. It is extremely rear opportunity for us, so we accepted it without any hesitation. The work has been completed with the help many contributors.
Now we are planning to provide electrical lighting for the courtyard of the stupa and the small image house. Work has already begun. Few youths from the village and our team are actively working on this. We are planning to finish the project within first few months of this new year.
